Daily Care

Keep your jewelry dry. To maintain its shine, gently polish each piece with a soft cloth after every wear to remove any residue.

Prevention

We recommend removing your jewelry before going to bed, cleaning, showering, swimming, or taking part in any physical activity. Exposure to harsh chemicals or environments can compromise the integrity of your jewelry. Examples include perspiration, perfume, cleaning agents, chlorine, salt water, and silver polish. Store jewelry made from different materials separately to prevent damage, tarnishing, and discoloration over time.

Storage

When you are not wearing your jewelry, store it in the supplied pouch or jewelry box to prevent scratching and minimize tarnishing. If it will not be worn for an extended period, store it in an airtight bag. To help it last, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Cleaning Silver and Gold

Clean your jewelry with a solution of warm water and dishwashing liquid, and let it soak for approximately 5 minutes. Gently rub away marks with your fingers, then rinse the jewelry in clean, warm water. Pat it dry with a 100% cotton towel. Rinse thoroughly to prevent residue, and do not leave the jewelry in the solution for more than 5 minutes. For silver with an oxidized (darkened) finish in particular, one practical method you can try at home is to rub it lightly with a soft, high-quality eraser from a stationery store. Your jewelry should quickly regain its original shine.

925 Sterling Silver Jewelry

Genuine silver naturally tarnishes over time. It reacts chemically with sulfur in the air, moisture, perfume, cream, and perspiration, forming a thin oxide layer (silver sulfide) on its surface. Tarnishing does not mean that the silver is poor quality; rather, it reflects the natural properties of the metal, and it can be cleaned. Silver is a soft precious metal and scratches easily. Protect your jewelry by storing it in a separate jewelry box, wrapping it in tissue paper, and keeping it away from hard materials that could damage the surface. To clean 925 sterling silver jewelry, follow the general cleaning guidance above.

14–18K Gold Jewelry

Gold also tends to tarnish over time, so we recommend following the general jewelry-cleaning guidance above. Between cleanings, use a polishing cloth to maintain your jewelry's shine; we recommend a cloth formulated specifically for gold. Gold is a soft precious metal and scratches easily. Protect your jewelry by storing it in a separate jewelry box, wrapping it in tissue paper, and keeping it away from hard materials that could damage the surface.

Leather Jewelry

Leather is a natural material. Over time, it naturally wears and may change color due to use and exposure to water, especially seawater, as well as creams and perspiration. To preserve the quality of leather products, do not wash them with household cleaning liquids. If the leather becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally. Do not place it near a heat source or open flame. Condition it occasionally with a leather-jewelry care cream to maintain its flexibility. Minimize exposure to water, and avoid wearing leather jewelry while exercising, showering, or swimming. Store leather jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Waxed Cord and Cord Jewelry

The waxed cords and other cords used in our products naturally wear over time due to general abrasion and exposure to water, especially seawater, as well as creams and perspiration. To extend their life, remove them from your wrist occasionally, wash them with dishwashing liquid, rinse them with clean water, and allow them to dry naturally.
